Alcor Solutions is seeking to hire a Software Asset Manager. This a remote opportunity with up to 25% travel.
The role of the Software Asset Manager (SAM) is to drive the operational and strategic components of the Software Asset Management Service. This position is integral to the success of the SAM Program as it will direct and report on the overall service health, on-going initiatives, and guide the day-to-day operations of the team.
The ideal individual for this position has natural leadership skills, a proven track record across a multitude of Publishers, understands the complexities of licensing in a global environment and can effectively and collaboratively work across numerous internal departments and external partners.
Job Description
- You will be responsible for administrative duties within the IT asset and inventory management function.
- Maintains records and databases containing information regarding licenses, warranties, and service agreements for the organization's hardware and software.
- Tracks quality throughout the product lifetime. Responsible for day-to-day operations and lifecycle management pertaining to IT Assets within the contracted operating environment.
- Ensures established hardware and software acquisition, protection, maintenance and retention policies, and standards and procedures are followed.
- Coordinates with the procurement function to interview, select and negotiate with hardware and software vendors in order to purchase the appropriate equipment at the lowest cost.
- Reviews licenses and/or contracts to ensure that hardware and software equipment is covered by the contract and properly documented.
- Follows established system of control for assets and manages these assets through their lifecycle from procurement to final disposition.
- Ability to lead an Asset and Configuration Management Workshop
- Ability to write requirement stories and proper acceptance criteria
- Ability to lead client teams through story refinement workshops
- Ability to train and transfer knowledge on the asset lifecycle process in a client workshop
- Manages an Asset consulting practice center of excellence and provides consulting, portfolio/delivery management, and sales enablement functions.
- Working with executive management, will influence strategic direction for the Asset practice and develops strategic practice delivery methods, tools, and processes.
