There have been few such moments for me at Alcor, however, the one instance which makes me feel the happiest and successful was when our sales team secured an exciting project in UK. It was a wonderful experience as we loved recruiting folks for delivering the project in UK and saw our team expanding to new topographies.

The challenging part – that was the first time Alcor was hiring in the UK. Eventually, we successfully recruited and delivered a quality team, and today that client is one of our most prestigious clients.

FAQs: How to Leverage Emergency Response Management Apps?

In partnership with Washington State Department of Health, ServiceNow released a no-charge community app, Emergency Response Operations, to help companies and governments implement critical workflows for emergency response and crisis management as they manage through COVID-19.

In addition, ServiceNow developed three no-cost community apps to benefit other organizations and governments fighting the pandemic. These apps are available now and will remain free of charge through September 30, 2020.

  • Emergency Outreach: During a crisis, this workflow leverages the Now Platform® to help companies connect with employees to assess the impact. Employers can reach out by email to provide information and safety measures and request a response to confirm if employees are safe, and where they are located. Employers can also leverage the ServiceNow Now Mobile App to send push notifications to employees via mobile to get response.
  • Emergency Self Report: This workflow helps an employee notify his/her employer that he/she is going into quarantine and when he/she can safely return to work. It provides workflow support for both the employer and employee and enables response teams to track employee reporting.
  • Emergency Exposure Management: When a company becomes aware that an employee has been diagnosed with an illness, this workflow helps the employer identify other employees who might have been exposed based on the employee’s meeting history and location.

Q: Are the apps really free?

A: The applications are free, and hosting is free until Sept 30, 2020.

Q: What happens on Sept 30?

A: ServiceNow will do separate enablement about converting/capturing a $500 hosting fee.

Q: Do any of these apps have pre-reqs for the customer to own any specific module(s)?

A: If you are an existing ServiceNow customer, you do not need a specific license or to use a specific application. All customers can use these apps regardless of their current contracts or entitlements from ServiceNow.

Q: How do I install the apps?

A: The apps are available on the ServiceNow Store and should already be available to install on one of your instances by having your ServiceNow Admin go to System Definition/Plugins.

Q: How do I give people the appropriate roles?

A: Ideally you will add the roles to specific groups. This will give each user the right level of access.

Q: If I need help who do I contact?

Having completed five years at Alcor, I’ve been a part of the organization’s incredible growth! It is very rewarding watching this vision fold by fold, I really appreciate my time spent with my colleagues and leadership. In quest of making Alcor, the Best Place to Work, I strongly believe in putting in my full efforts in every task – learning and growing at the same time. Being a part of and working in such a diverse workplace provides me with a very rich experience I would not trade. I appreciate the culture of opportunity as well – Alcor allows its employees to show their willingness for an assignment, learn about the nitty-gritties, and set the ball rolling. This philosophy is one I can truly embrace.

I feel proud to be a part of a highly skilled team, consisting of the best of talent from across the world. The work culture here is dynamic and abides by the Alcor’s vision of growth and excellence.

  1. What’s been that one defining moment for you at Alcor where you felt happy, successful and motivated?

My everyday experiences at Alcor puts a smile on my face and motivates me to be a better version of myself! It’s a very positive feeling when I hear people talking, help them onboard, and check back with them – Wow! I just love the work environment and culture here.

Other than that, every opportunity I get at Alcor, boosts my motivation and makes me feel successful. Be it going to the Knowledge conferences or presenting positive things that clients had to say about Alcor.

  1. Who is Lisa? How can you best describe yourself?

An enthusiastic and positive personality who believes that loving your work is the key to success. A mom of three children, I love spending time with my family and tickling their taste buds by cooking delicious meals. In my free time, I can be found watching a movie, reading a good book, hiking to Mini Wine Country or exploring local places. Following the practice of giving back to the society, I enjoy volunteering for the community sports at Youth Football League, supporting the Autistic community, and promoting art and theatre.

1. What has been your work experience here at Alcor?

What an incredible journey it has been, thus far at Alcor! I have been given so many opportunities to work with clients all over the world including Tokyo, Paris, London, Seoul, Shanghai, and here in the U.S. My work life has been non-stop since I started a year ago; learning from both, clients and my fellow employees. It’s just been so exciting for me!

There is an overriding sense of helping across the organization; we truly have a culture of wanting the best for each person and treat every client/project with utmost importance. It’s rare to be part of an organization that lives that out and I am truly happy to be part of one!

2. Why do you feel proud to be an Alcorian?

We have an amazing group of people here at Alcor. All are very skilled at what they do; it’s an honor to be among the best in the industry.

3. What has been that one defining moment for you at Alcor where you felt happy, successful and motivated?

Every client engagement has been exciting with unique challenges. My favorite part of working with clients is getting to know them, the challenges they face, and work collaboratively with them to provide their end users a seamless experience.

4. Who is Pamela? How can you best describe yourself? 

I’m one of those people who is passionate about ‘my work’ and many a times, when hit by those ‘Eureka’ moments, you may find me with pen and paper taking notes! When I can step away from work, I help and assist my youngest son flipping houses in Boise. We just sold our first flip house!

  1. What has been your work experience here at Alcor?

No two days are the same here! The work environment at Alcor is exciting, super charged, the work culture is awesome, and one can reach out to anyone in the organization for help, and the collaboration with the offshore team is wonderful. Having spent nearly 5 years here, I yet have so much to learn here!

  • Why do you feel proud to be an Alcorian? Please elaborate in a couple of lines.

The exposure one gets at Alcor is awesome. I feel proud to work across multiple technologies- AWS, ServiceNow and more. Having worked on multiple ServiceNow modules and AWS, my experiential learnings have been immense here. Another pride factor for me is the approachability and transparency with the Management – very rarely seen in organizations today.

  • What’s been that one defining moment for you at Alcor where you felt happy, successful and motivated?

There have been multiple defining moments for me here! I did start as a developer but am moving steadily to an architect role! It has been wonderful to work on business opportunities. I got an opportunity to work on the pre-sales functions where we got great success with a retail giant in Japan and an alternative energy systems company out of United States. Both these opportunities have been motivating for me! The trust that clients have in me during the engagements has been another defining moment for me. One more to add! Winning the first Alcor hackathon was pivotal and the product been shortlisted at ServiceNow CreatorCon was my ‘ruby’ moment!

  • Who is Sushil? How can you best describe yourself?

For me, technology is all! I am focused and dedicated at my work. Am inclined towards reading across technology in my free time. Watching movies help me relax and I like to travel to new places with being a “big-time” foodie even if I am a vegan. Recognition motivates me to do better and set my bar higher. Last but not the least, family support in all that I do is very important!

  • What has been your experience working here at Alcor?

My experience of working here in Alcor has been great! The company’s environment is wonderful, the coworkers are friendly, the management and HR teams are approachable and transparent.
The reason Alcor is growing at a great pace is because of the quality of work it delivers to their client. We work proactively on issues and try to give the best solutions to the client. We have a very high CSAT score and get a lot of client appreciations.
Alcor is a company which has a vision and employees can see themselves growing along with this vision. We don’t work in silos; we are given opportunities to work and expand our knowledge in different areas as well.
Alcor conducts annual hackathons and we often work on product development and research; this also helps in pushing our limits and learn new and latest technologies. The employees are also recognized for the efforts they put in and are appreciated for their work in a public platform.

  • Why do you feel proud to be an Alcorian?

I feel proud to be an Alcorian because of its culture, work and the vision. I can see myself growing and learning new things in a great environment where everyone is appreciated.

  • What’s been that one defining moment for you at Alcor where you felt happy, successful and motivated?

There has been many such moments, however if I have to choose one then I can say that the interaction which I had with the CEO and the Founder at the inception of my career here in Alcor paved a path for my professional success.
We shared our goals and company’s vision and realized that they were similar. Post that, I was placed in a team where my aspirations are taken care of and which challenged me to push my own limits. Since then, I have been given a chance to research and learn. I also got a chance to represent my company and give webinars to different regions around the globe. This was a new experience which motivated me and helped me to further expand my limits.

  • Who is Abbas? How can you best describe yourself?

I am a self-motivated individual who likes exploring and learning new things. Coming from a computer background, I love gadgets and like coding and learning new technologies.

I challenge myself to advance on a personal level. I take myself as competition and keep a track of where I was a month or a year back. I like to think out of the box and try to do things that distinguish me from the crowd. I draw inspiration from my father, Steve Jobs, Harvey Specter from Suits, Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk. I get demotivated by liars, dishonest, manipulating and unfaithful people.
I am a social person and like meeting new people and try to build a good rapport with them. I was involved in social activities during my college days and have good leadership experience of managing college clubs and societies. I am a creative person and like working on the Adobe Illustrator and do sketching in free time. I like watching Sitcoms, Action, and Drama TV Shows and likes listening to pop and alternative rock music.

I have been so impressed with the people at Alcor. Everyone on the team is self-motivated, caring and truly proud to be doing the good work they are doing.

  • What makes you feel proud to be an Alcorian?

I am proud to be part of an organization that has integrity. Successes are celebrated and people are recognized. It’s so easy to get lost in the machine of a huge organization, but you don’t get that at Alcor. It really feels like a family.

  • Tell us about a few defining moments you had at Alcor.

It’s difficult to pick just one! Recently, I had a former colleague reach out to me and ask what I had been doing differently lately because I seemed so much happier. I shared with them my great experiences at Alcor. That person eventually joined the Alcor team. There is nothing more rewarding than sharing opportunity and success with others, so that really made me feel great.

  • Tell us more about yourself: Who is  Jennifer?

 I’d say I’m ambitious and a creative problem solver. Being given room to grow motivates me and micromanaging demotivates me. My husband, John, and I love to travel internationally with our two teen daughters. I also love to just chill at home in San Diego with our three cats. It’s a beautiful city with unbeatable weather, so I can’t complain!

I would just say that the last year and a half has been amazing at Alcor! I love this workplace for the recognition and appreciation you get from your peers and Executive team! It’s a positive work environment, and your hard work is always appreciated. As a Developer, I worked across multiple projects, which helped me in my self transformation journey to become a more capable and confident developer.

What makes you feel proud to be an Alcorian?

We work virtually, yet we have a strong bond at Alcor! I am proud of my colleagues and myself who have cherished this bond, and it continues to get stronger and better each day! Here at Alcor are given opportunities to explore new things and work across various projects. This helps us work across multiple teams and modules. I feel so proud to be an Alcorian!

Tell us about a few defining moments you had at Alcor.

I remember this one instance, where a project was not going quite well, but after a few integrations, correcting a few bugs and working together as a team, we were given kudos by the same client. This appreciation has been a defining moment for me.

Another case to point would be my own disbelief in myself actually writing and implementing a JAVA scripting internal cloud project POC. I had never done JAVA scripting, but my hard work and spirit to learn made me excel at this customer POC.

Tell us more about yourself: Who is Poojitha?

As a mother of a 2-year-old, I am and I need to be a 24X7 positive person. And an active one – too! I love experimenting in the kitchen and like playing badminton when I get the time and, of course, spending as much time as possible with my boy.

1. What has been your experience working here at Alcor.
It’s just been an amazing journey! Each day has added something new in my development. The flexibility, training, accountability and empowerment I am exposed to, in my role, motivates me, while the approachability to the senior management, the continuous learning from team members, growing together as a team just makes each work day exciting and invigorating. This sense of continuous learning across hierarchies and verticals gives me a sense of pride and satisfaction.

2. Why do you feel proud to be an Alcorian?
We have accomplished a lot in a short span of time! That’s a proud feeling for me. I joined 2.5 years back and the growth of this company, the potential for personal growth and the sense of ‘one-ness’ I get here, makes me proud and happy.

3. Tell us about a few defining moments of yours at Alcor.
The motivation to work here is every day- Speaks a lot about this company! In my consulting, customer facing role- a successful launch, kudos from a customer- all are defining moments. Early this year, at one of the Go-Lives, the customer talked about our work done for them adding value to their day to day operations- defining moment again! Middle of this year, I took ownership of HR service delivery at Alcor. With me getting trained, I trained a team, we as a team completed our certifications, we had to do a lot of self training and learning, had to do work shops with requirements and show excellence in my consulting role. The Management recognized my efforts. These instances motivate me to do more!

4. Tell us more about yourself- Who is Sushma?
I am an open minded professional. As a daughter of an Army Officer, honesty, loyalty and integrity towards work and one’s work place are values ingrained in me from childhood. I base my relationships on trust with customers and people at Alcor alike. Trust motivates me!
I am a neutral person when it comes to demotivating factors. In my community, I am an active participant in fund raising activities and am part of a few NGOs. In my free time, I spend time with family and friends.

1. What has been your experience at work, here at Alcor.
I don’t differentiate between Alcor and me- my work life is like an extension of me! Of course, working here is exciting and challenging at times, but that’s the very richness of it all. The team atmosphere is, “Everybody helps everybody”! This is quite different from the earlier companies I’ve worked for. The leadership team is very easy to talk to and I can call someone up, vent out, discuss, without any fear or pressure. This company follows the ‘Open door policy’ on ground!

2. Why do you feel proud to be an Alcorian?
I feel a sense of belonging here- a sense of family here. It’s interesting, even if we are virtual, globally placed- it’s exciting to go to work! I am proud of and enjoy this sense of community we have built across our people in US, India and Canada.

3. What’s been that one defining moment for you at Alcor where you felt happy, successful and motivated?
There are a couple of defining moments 🙂
One was when a customer said – can you do this? Here, it was a creative process when, we as a team went around the task together and as one!
Another defining moment for me is when I do training classes with people at Alcor and clients. It’s an incredible feeling when you talk and empower customers, enable them to adopt technological innovations, mentor and get mentored! This give and take of knowledge reflects on the maturity and depth of thinking of the people at Alcor.
Here is one more! Alcor’s off shore team is hungry! Give them an idea and they are driven to do things.

4. Who is Hartaj?
The mountains and beaches- both excite me. I am an avid hiker and a body boarder. I have been training in the Sparing form of Taekwondo (a martial art) for many years now. I also lead a vegan fest initiative, which is attended by over 25,000 people in my community. Helping people motivates me hands down!
